The new updated version of the hit release of 2015 RaceUltra 290, the refined Trail Talon 290 brings endurance athletes more comfort to the hard compacted terrain with its 8mm drop. Offering optimal cushioning and comfort for the long-distance athlete racing over trails and mountains while also delivering increased levels of proprioception. A flatter outsole ensures a stable ride when fatigue sets in.
SUPERIOR TRAIL TRACTION
Multi-directional 4mm deep studs, each with a wide contact area, provide aggressive grip, excellent stability and the quick release of any debris. Using three sticky rubber compounds on the outsole increases grip and durability. The hardest, most durable rubber is on the heel, with a medium rubber up the centre for increased traction and a softer rubber on the edges for grip and security with every stride.
CUSHIONED RIDE
Two-piece Powerflow midsole delivers 10% better shock absorption and 15% better energy return than standard midsoles.
INCREASED FLEXIBILITY AND COMFORT
Built around the natural anatomy of the foot, the next generation ADAPTERFIT met-cradle adapts to the natural movement and swelling of the foot on longer runs.
STAY PROTECTED
A new rubber toe bumper protects the toes from sharp rocks and stones, while a gusseted tongue prevents debris from entering the shoe. On-the-shoe gaiter hooks offer a more secure attachment system that allows you to attach an ALL TERRAIN GAITER to the shoe.
IMPROVED FIT
The new lightweight, breathable upper material helps deliver a better fit and feel than the previous model.
Upper: The updated high performance upper made of a new denser and softer three dimensional quick drying mesh that delivers superior durability and breathability.
Footbed: Comfortable and interchangeable, the new 6mm PowerFootbed™ innersole offers a plush ride from the first step.
TriC Sticky rubber: A carefully blended combination of three different rubbers make up the RaceUltra sole, firm, medium sticky and soft sticky rubber, all specifically located to deliver traction and Grip over mixed terrain while specialising in hard compact earth over long distances.
Meta-Flex™ insert: delivers a controlled but natural forefoot flex.
Met-Cradle™ lacing: cradles the forefoot behind the metatarsal heads to provide a secure foot hold while running up or down hill.
TerraDaptor™: The heel includes the Terradapt system to allow a controlled level of flex to the runner while not collapsing when form starts to fade at the latter stages of long runs.
Gaiter Attachment: An all new upper deisgn incorporates gaiter pockets to the ankle area allowing a low profile Gaiter to be clipped in with no fuss or extra weight.
